Virginia joined ABG in 2017 as a patent adviser in the Chemistry & Materials Department. Her practice is focused on patent drafting, prosecution, patentability and infringement analysis mostly in the material science, inorganic and nanotechnology fields. She is Spanish Patent and Trademark Agent (2019) and qualified European Patent Attorney (EQE, 2022).

Before joining ABG, Virginia worked as Postdoctoral Research Assistant at the Energy Safety Research Institute (ESRI), Swansea University, UK. Her postdoc was focused on nanomaterials processing and functionalization.

Virginia did her Chemical Engineering PhD at the Institute of Nanoscience of Aragón (INA), Universidad de Zaragoza, Spain. Her PhD was awarded with the Barcelona Award for Best Doctoral Thesis in Occupational Health (2015) and with the extraordinary doctoral prize of the Universidad de Zaragoza (2016). She has completed the Course in European Patent Law, organized by the Center for International Studies on Intellectual Property (CEIPI) of the University of Strasbourg.

In 2012, Virginia spent a few months working at the NRCWE research center in Copenhagen, Denmark.

She has more than 20 publications in high impact journals.

Virginia is a native Spanish speaker and fluent speaker in English and French.
