We are excited to share this news: we landed in Valencia.
Why Valencia? Because the Valencian Community is the fourth autonomous region in European patent applications, surpasses the national average in the innovation index prepared by the European Commission, and its companies exceed the average in terms of spending on innovation in relation to turnover. After Madrid (2003), Barcelona (2007) and Bilbao (2015), Valencia had to be our next destination.
With the launch of this new location, we aim to be closer to our clients while also opening up a market in a vibrant region that has recently made a strong commitment to innovation in order to transform its production model. We believe that the creativity and inventiveness that defines this autonomy are being demonstrated today by their organisations, who are investing in R+D consciously to strengthen their competitiveness. At ABG IP we want to contribute to their success by providing our support in the management and protection of their intangible assets, something that we consider to be the key to drive progress.
We have selected Jorge Ibor Millán for leading ABG IP Valencia. He is a patent adviser in our Biotechnology & Life Sciences Department, and whose career includes his time at the European Patent Office. His ties to the region, his entrepreneurial spirit, and his talent are what have led us to choose a young person like Jorge. We already tried this formula in Bilbao a decade ago and our presence in the Basque Country has been growing organically and sustainably ever since. Little by little we have been expanding the team and now we cover the whole territory. After the undoubted success, we believe that in Valencia, this is also the way forward.
Given that ABG IP is not organised internally according to the territory, but is structured based on the services we provide to the different sectors, from this new office in Valencia we will be able to offer comprehensive and highly specialised advice in the Valencian Community both in the protection of R&D through patents, trademarks and other modalities, as well as in the defence of those intangible assets.
The new ABG IP office in Valencia is already up and running at Avenida de las Cortes Valencianas, 39.
We await you there.
